The context

Bahrain is overshadowed in tourism by other middle eastern countries.

What comes to mind when you think of the Middle East and “The place you HAVE to see?” Is it in UAE, where you’ll experience what lavish living really means in their grandiose megacities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi? Or would you think of Egypt - the cradle of human civilization?

But did the Kingdom of Bahrain ever cross your mind? If no, then why not?

the problems

1. As a traveller going to the Middle East, why would you decide to travel to Bahrain?

2. As a traveller going to Bahrain, how would you get there?

3. As a traveller in Bahrain, what else are you going to do there?

The Bahraini government has significantly invested in both infrastructure and initiatives to strengthen its tourism sector, aiming to establish itself as a prospective hub for tourism in the Middle East - creating an opportunity for a partnership with Serefin.

Ultimately, our mission is to elevate the Global Bahrain Tourism marketing initiative with new technologies and products to better feature the breadth & diversity of tourism offerings in the Kingdom.

I serve as the lead designer for Serefin Travel, aiming to bring this vision to life.

the MISSION statement

Make Bahrain a desirable, high lux place to travel by better showcasing the true breadth & diversity of experiences the Kingdom has to offer.

The Approach(s)

The three distinct stages of a traveller’s journey.

The following section outlines our general product strategy, which can be best simplified into three distinct stages of a traveller’s journey.

But before I proceed, you must be thinking to yourself - all this pedantic business terminology and wording is boring the heck out of me - just get to the point!

There’s only one person in this would who couldn’t agree with you more - Kevin.

Our Dear Friend Kevin

We need to talk about Kevin.

To better illustrate how the business strategy translates to a real traveller experience, we’ll be acquainting ourselves with our dear friend Kevin in order to showcase the touch points across each channel in his heroic journey to Bahrain - and his mind behind every decision.

KEVIN’S JOURNEY

Kevin, a young urban professional, is a passionate car enthusiast and a food enjoyer. However, due to the demands of a busy job in combination with a guilty proclivity towards TikTok, Kevin finds it challenging to dedicate extensive time to plan for a dream vacation.
